Paired Learning

Paired LearningPicture7

This programme pairs up junior doctors with junior managers in the organisation, allowing pairs to shadow each other in their daily roles, deliver service improvements, and build valuable working relationships across traditional professional boundaries.

The 6 half-day workshops cover topics ranging from transformation and service improvement, to productive team working, to governance and safety. Participants on the programme will also have access to observe high-level Trust meetings (not normally freely accessible to many people in the organisation).

Here are some quote from the end of programme feedback from participants,

“Great programme, will have massive benefits for improved working relationships in the long term.”
“Thank you – it has been a brilliant opportunity and I’ll be recommending it to all my colleagues!”
“Well run and insightful – allows bridges to be built between clinical and management teams.”
“A valuable experience – I gained useful skills and knowledge, and met great people.”
“Enjoyed every minute and sad it’s come to an end. Met some great people and I hope we will stay in touch!”

“A strong sense of organisational values, embedded throughout the organisation, can provide the foundations for clinical workers engagement; With trusts coming under growing pressure, engaging all healthcare workers in decision-making and innovation will become increasingly important. Even with good clinical practice we can always look at how we can do things better.”
