Course Duration: One Day
Start Time: 08:15 End Time: 17:00
Outline:
Knowledge regarding the management of tracheostomy emergencies are essential for all staff caring for children who have a tracheostomy. From a detailed learning needs analysis undertaken at Evelina Children’s Hospital, we are aware that not all staff feel confident as a first responder and desire specific training on aspects such as emergencies, tube changes, suctioning procedures and algorithms.
This course is designed to address these needs through a combination of mini-interactive skill stations, small group rapid algorithm practice and high fidelity simulation scenarios. It is appropriate for staff of all grades and experience of caring for children with tracheostomies including nursing staff, doctors, physiotherapist and allied health care professionals.
