Allied Health Professionals

We are proud to support 1100 AHP’s across the Trust, who work across both acute and local services and provide a diverse range of clinical support to our patients and their loved ones. We support both adults and children throughout their journey, across our hospitals and into our local and community services.

We strive to be the best and deliver exceptional care and recognised that you need time, support and development to develop your skills across the four pillars of practice:

  1. Clinical Practice
to enable you to maintain core skills at the centre of your practice.
  2. Education
to support the development of your practice and your personal development.
  3. Leadership
to enhance and develop your leadership skills.
  4. Research and Quality Improvement
to support your practice in research, clinical audit, quality improvement and service development.

Structured Training and Education for Pharmacists (STEP) post registration foundation programme.

The Structured Training and Education for Pharmacists (STEP) post registration foundation programme is designed to enhance the role of post registered hospital pharmacists. The programme offers a wide variety of experiences and provides you with a platform to expand your current knowledge and develop your skills to become an expert in medicines.

The STEP programme is an experiential foundation training programme for recently qualified pharmacists working in the hospitals within King’s Health Partners. The partners in this programme are King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, and the Royal Brompton and Harefield hospitals, along with Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust as an affiliate. The programme is set over three years and you will have the opportunity to gain experience within the four partner Trusts.

For further information on the programme see the STEP handbook.
