Training to be a nurse or midwife
We provide high quality clinical placements to over 1000 pre-registration adult, child, learning disability and midwifery students each year. We also support Return to Practice students, associate nurse apprentices, registered nurse degree apprenticeships, and internationally educated nurses. Students attend from Kings College London, London Southbank University, University of Greenwich, Coventry University and City University.
We have a strong focus on developing clinical expertise, exemplary person centred care and dedicated interprofessionalism within our future workforce. We are proud to ensure excellence in patient care through innovation in education. We are constantly developing unique learning opportunities through our Hub and Spoke model. We also promote and share that voice of our students through regular feedback and our various forums/councils. We nurture and foster a thriving learning culture across all areas and would like to welcome you to Guys and St Thomas Foundation Trust!
Training to be a Nursing Associate
We currently offer Nursing Associate apprenticeships to our staff with Coventry University and the University of Greenwich. We provide the best learning experiences available in the NHS due to the diversity of in hospital and community placements. As we are an integrated Trust (community and hospital), we are always developing new and interesting learning opportunities across many disciplines and specialities. We have a dedicated team of Practice Educators to support apprentices along their journey to qualification. Nursing Associates are now working in most clinical areas across the Trust and are truly valued members of the interprofessional healthcare team.
