This course aims to train Clinicians in Shared Decision Making and pave the way to integrating shared decision making into perioperative pathways at GSTT.
Venue: Sherman Education Centre, 4th Floor, Southwark Wing, Guy’s Hospital, SE1 9RT
3 CPPD Points
Please note this workshop is designed for surgeons (consultants and trainees), anaesthetists (consultants and trainees), all nurses, physiotherapists and allied health professionals involved in perioperative care.
We are expecting a large number of applications and we will select applicants from different backgrounds to ensure a mix of specialities on the day. We will prioritise multidisciplinary teams applying together. Cross professional group applications are preferable, such as surgeon, anaesthetist, physiotherapist, and CNS. Pair applications such as surgeon and anaesthetists are welcome. Please indicate on your application the members of your team who will be applying to attend the day. Each member will have to complete a separate application form. Solo applications may be considered if spaces allow.
“A strong sense of organisational values, embedded throughout the organisation, can provide the foundations for clinical workers engagement; With trusts coming under growing pressure, engaging all healthcare workers in decision-making and innovation will become increasingly important. Even with good clinical practice we can always look at how we can do things better.”
