Urology

Welcome to Guy’s and St Thomas’ for King’s Health Partners Urology specialty training programme.

Urology is a surgical specialty, covering the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the kidneys, ureters, bladder, prostate and male reproductive organs. We offer services to patients from Lambeth, Southwark and Lewisham as well as further afield for some of our specialist activities.

Our service is based in a state-of-the-art urology centre at Guy’s Hospital, where most of our clinical activities take place. We also offer urology clinics, day surgery and emergency services at Lewisham University Hospital.

377812This post graduate specialty programme provides trainees with the skills, experience and training to prepare you for a career in Urology. The Urology programme delivers simulation training to the trainees in South London as well as Kent Surrey and Sussex. This is the leading centre for simulation. All aspects of clinical and surgical urology, including sub-speciality training in stone surgery, prostate cancer and robotic surgery, laparoscopic surgery, renal and bladder cancer, andrology and female urology.

Each trainee will be encouraged to gain areas of particular knowledge or distinction, in advance of CCT so that he/she is well-placed to contribute as a consultant. We aim to continue to produce graduates who become national leaders of the profession for the future. Trainees will train in an inter-professional and multi-professional environment.

This popular 7 year training programme comprises of 4 full time training posts.
